18The installation Creating Shadows is using the Houkaisekicalcite crystal, one mineral of the mountains ofYamaguchi. The work refers to the geological positionof Yamaguchi, because the name of the land alsocontains light and shadow. Chugoku region consistsof two different parts, considering the way of the sun.The name of the upper part “san-in” = mountain -shadow. The lower part called: “san-you” = mountain -sun, because the mountains creating a line in between.Stones create the shadow in the land, which influencedthe agricultural activities, therefore influence the folklife. Tradition is connected to that, so the mountainsinfluence the culture. 「影を創ること」という作品では、山口県で採れる鉱物である方解石結晶を用いている。作品は、山口県の地理的な位置についても言及する。中国地方は太陽の動く軌道を考慮して、二つの部分に分けられる。北部は「山」と「陰」で山陰と呼ばれ、南部は「山」と「陽」で山陽と呼ばれる。山がその間に線を作っているからである。岩が土地に影を作り、それが農業に影響を与え、その結果、地域の生活に影響を与える。伝統はこれと繋がり、つまりは山が文化に影響を与えているのである。影を創ること光のインスタレーション方解石、ピンスポットライト(650W)サイズ可変 / 2016年制作CREATING SHADOWSLight installationHoukai-seki crystal, 650W light beamDimension variable / 2016
