32山田 哲平ビジュアルアート、インスタレーション 日本出身・在住 広島市立大学芸術学部で彫刻を学び、その後多様な素材を用いて表現活動を行う。 山田の制作には幼少期の俳優の経験が大きく関わっている。彼にとって、演じることは「自分ではない誰かに成ること」であった。自己形成において多感な時期に他者に成る行為を繰り返した事により、彼は自己を見失いその見失った自己を理解する為に、作品制作を通して自己の内面に入り込んでくる外の世界を読み解いている。 近年、土地や空間からインスピレーションを得て、自然の音や人の心音などを可視化、触覚化する彫刻やインスタレーション作品を制作し、その土地の見えない側面を開示するプロジェクトを進めており、土地や空間のリサーチに時間を掛け、大規模なインスタレーションとして発表される彼の作品は、鑑賞者に不安や落ち着きなど様々な感覚を与えている。 Visual Art, InstallationBorn in Japan, lives and works in JapanGraduated from the Faculty of Art at Hiroshima CityUniversity, Yamada carries on his expressive activitiesusing a variety of material.His practice is hugely influenced by his own experience ofa child actor. For him, acting was to become someone thatwas not himself. Continuing such an act as being otherslead to a loss of self when he was most sensitive. In orderto regain himself that has once been lost, he attempts todecipher the outside world thrusting into his inside.Being inspired by a land and space in recent years, hecreated installation and sculptural works which make anature and cardiac sound visible and touchable, whileproceeding with a project that attempts to disclose aninvisible aspect of a land.
