13Residence ProjectOften one can hear that the process of creation and livingis more important than the final result. When I cameto Akiyoshi I could actually see it in everyday life, in theconsciousness of the process of living, the attitude ofbeing thoughtful in everyday activity and human interaction.My work here focuses on the consciousnessof taking steps on our way, being humble to our route,as we are not always able to reach our goal or evennotice it. My installations create a path from cafeteria,through the stairs, corridor, artist lunge, and leads to theentrance door as I wanted to overlap the experienceof visiting the exhibition with the content of the work.‘When I Stand Here I Hear The Earth Is Turning’consistof looped videos I recorded while my residency. Those? played on monitors set up in a row ? are showing theprocesses of walking, passing through different spaces,leaving the traces, the traces itself, and the echo of cosmicmicrowave background - which is also a trace ofthe past ? as in my works it’s important to juxtaposethe traces left in different values of time, in order to gainthe new perspective of our place on “this Land”. Bothif we consider “this Land” as Akiyoshi and our place inthe universe. ‘Akiyoshi Sinella is an installation’ consistingof interactive video projection of a cave with anunreachable end of a path, and a video projected onanother side of a room inspired by particle detectorsused for visualizing the passage of ionizing radiation(like cloud chamber or bubble chamber). While walkingthrough the space slightly filled with a fog, the size ofthe exit of a cave adjusted to visitors movement. As aresult, the end of the path was getting smaller when onetried to approach it. The title refers to Akiyoshi Sinella? the small creature, seemed almost invisible, transparent,very hard to notice, adapted to live in AkiyoshiCave.co-operation/software: Bertrand Candas滞在制作プロジェクト　最終的な結果よりも、作る過程や生きる過程の方が重要だとよく言われます。私は秋吉に来たとき、生活のプロセスの意識の中や、日々の活動と人間の交流の中の思いやる態度でそれを目の当たりすることが出来ました。私のここでの作品は、私たちのやり方、“順序に謙虚であること”の一つ一つに対する意識に焦点を当てています。それは、私たちが常に最終目的にたどりつくとは限らず、またそれに気づかないように。私の展示はカフェから階段、廊下、アーティストラウンジを通る順路を経て入口の扉へと観客を導き、作品内容と会場に訪れる経験を重ね合わせます。　『ここに立つと地球が回る音が聞こえる』は滞在中に撮影したループ映像で構成されます。それら一列に並んだモニターは、歩く道のり、異なる空間を通り抜けること、軌跡を残すこと、軌跡そのもの、そして過去の痕跡でもある宇宙マイクロ波背景放射のこだまの過程を映し出します。私の作品の中で、異なる時間の価値の中で残された痕跡を並置することが“この土地”の新たな視点を得るために重要なのです。“この土地”とは、秋吉でも、宇宙の中の私たちの場所としても、どちらも考えられます。　『秋吉シネラ』は未開の洞窟のインタラクティブビデオプロジェクションと、部屋のもう片側に映し出された粒子放射の軌跡を視覚化するために使われた（霧箱や泡箱のような）粒子検知器に着想を得たビデオで構成されたインスタレーション作品です。少量の霧で満たされた空間を歩いている間、洞窟の出口は観客の動きに合わせて調整されます。その結果、終着地点は観客がたどり着こうとすればするほど小さくなります。タイトルは秋芳洞で生きることに適応した、透明でほとんど見えず、観察することが難しい小さな生物“秋吉シネラ”を指しています。協力/ ソフトウェア：バートランド・カンダス
