40『3 億5 千年前の余所者』 日本最大のカルスト台地で知られる秋吉台周辺地域は石灰岩の上で生活が営まれています。その成り立ちは3 億5 千年前のプレート運動によって彼方からやってきた珊瑚礁の石灰だと言われています。本作品は秋吉台で取れる化石が入った石灰石に“3 億5 千年前の余所者”という名前を付けることで、土地の所有者や当事者とは誰なのかと謎かけします。Outsider from 350 million years agoPeople make their lives on a limestone landin Akiyoshidai that is known as the largestkarst plateau in Japan. It is said that theplateau was formed by coral reef broughtfrom far away due to plate motions 350million years ago. In this work, I attempt toquestion who is the owner of or the party incharge of this land, by just naming a locallycollected limestone containing a fossil “outsidefrom 350 million years ago”.
