スジン・イの作品は、「個人やコミュニティーの思い出の空間や感情」に焦点を当てたインスタレーションを軸としたプロジェクトで構成され、「都市化が起こる特定の空間」で示唆される「一時性」や「物語」に基づいています。例えば、《The Guide for a Crash-landing into theCamouflaged Planet (2018)》、《The Ilex Rotunda Village(2017)》、《Luminizing Sequence(2014?)》という継続的な作品で、は社会的、物理的、環境的な要因から派生した生態系に関する想像をもとに場所性についての美学的なリサーチを行なっています。それは過去から未来へ保持される原初的な要素を求め、現在に対する都市化や産業化という都市の成長や拡張の結果としての様々な信号、手がかり、現代性を超越していくものです。Lee Sujin’s works are based on ‘temporality’ and ‘narrative’implied in ‘a specific space where urbanization takes place’,consisting of installation-based projects with a focus on the‘memory space and emotionality of individuals and communities’.For instance, her recent project of The Guide for aCrash-landing into the Camouflaged Planet (2018), The IlexRotunda Village (2017) and her ongoing series of LuminizingSequence (2014~) reveal aesthetic research of place-nesswhich is based on ecological imagination derived from social,physical and environmental factors.
