子供の頃、学校の帰り道の山の斜面に貝塚があった。それに興味を持ったのは、何千年も前の人々の生活の断片が、地層として目の前に見えている奇妙な感覚だった。人々の生活や自然の累積である目の前に存在する風景や現象は、時に自分の想像を大きく超えて、なんだかよく分からないけど心を揺らす瞬間がある。自ら何かをつくりだすという感覚よりは、すでに目の前にある世界から何かを見つけたい／発掘したいという感覚に近く、美術大学では絵画を専攻したが、徐々に写真やその他の表現方法を手にするようになった。日常や旅先で疑問や感動を感じ、それに対して自分なりに意味や価値を発見して、新しく伝え、提示したいと思っている。When I was a child, on the way home from school I saw a shellmound on a mountain slope. I felt strange sensation when Ifaced with such layered fragments of lives from thousandsyears ago. Landscapes and phenomenon made through accumulationsof human life and nature bring me a comfortablemoment that goes beyond my imagination, though I do notsurely understand. I had a desire to find and discover somethingin the world right in front of my eyes rather than creatingsomething by myself. Then, I gradually inclined to photographyand other artistic practice, although I majored in paintingat art school.
