Residence ProgramsSupport program “trans”The prefix “trans” means to go beyond, get across,cross, exchange, change, and convert. The residencesupport program provides about 2-monthlongsupport to artists from all over the world selectedthrough open calls and nominated throughrecommendation via AIAV’s partner organizationsoverseas. During the residency, these selectedartists participate in a variety of events such asresearch tour, cultural exchange program, andopen studio and hold an exhibition at the end ofthe program. In this program, collaborative projectswith local residents or the participating artists oftentake place since artists spend time together andproceed with their creation through stimulating interactionsand dialogue with each other. In recentyears, AIAV has set up a particular theme for theopen call and this became a special feature of theprogram.【サポート・プログラム“trans”】transとは、越える、横切る、通過する、交差／交換する、変換／転換するなどの意味を持つ接頭語です。レジデンス・サポート・プログラムは、公募や推薦によって選ばれた国内外の若手アーティストが、約２ヶ月間に渡る滞在制作を行うプログラムです。滞在中には、リサーチツアーや交流会、オープンスタジオなどの様々なイベントを開催し、滞在後期には成果を発表する展覧会を行っています。このプログラムでは、複数のアーティストが同時期に滞在し、互いに刺激し合いながら創作活動を進めていくため、地域住民やアーティスト同士のコラボレーションも多く見られます。近年、公募の際に制作テーマを設けていることも特色の一つです。Fellowship programThe residence fellowship program is a program forall artists without any limitation of age or genre.AIAV provides a short residence program up to 30days for the artists and aims to offer wide rangeopportunities for local residents to casually experienceart and culture and to interact with the artists.In addition to workshops and artist talks as interculturalexchange programs, these artists activelycarried out school visits in the area. This programis often favored by artists who have previously participatedin AIAV’s program and by those who needto revisit AIAV and the area for long-term projects.【フェローシップ・プログラム】レジデンス・フェローシップ・プログラムは、年齢を問わずあらゆるジャンルのアーティストを対象にしたプログラムです。30日以内の短期滞在による創作活動の支援に加え、幅広い層の県民が気軽に芸術文化に触れる機会やアーティストと交流する機会を提供することを目的としています。ワークショップやアーティストトークの交流プログラムに加え、地域の教育機関への出前授業も積極的に行ってきました。他のプログラムで秋吉台国際芸術村に滞在したアーティストが再び芸術村を訪れる際や、複数回に渡り芸術村に滞在してプロジェクトを実施する際などにも活用されています。055
