 Birthdate must be between April 2nd, 1976 and April 1st, 2000
(2) Horn Category
 Birthdate must be between April 2, 1976 and April 1, 2000
* Accepted regardless of nationalities and backgrounds.

Screening Procedure

Screening Procedure

– Each participant will be screened through the first and the second qualifiers at the concert hall of the Akiyoshidai International Art Village.
– The results of first qualifier and second qualifier judged by the Screening Committee will be announced on the same day at the venue.
– The result of the final selection will then soon be announced after the performance and the awards ceremony will be held at the venue.

How to apply

Participation fee

Participation fee (28,000 yen)
Participation fee must be paid in cash at the venue (Akiyoshidai International Art Village).

Regarding Accompanists

– Public pianists (paid) may be used for the first and second qualifiers and the final selection.
– We will designate the time and place of practice with public pianists on the previous day of each qualifier and final selection at the Village.The public pianist will be designated not by the participant but by the Music Competition Office.
– If you request a public pianist for your accompanist, please fill in the designated form.
– You may accompany your pianist at your own expense.

Other

Acceptance Procedures

– Lots will be drawn to decide the order of appearance.
– Participants are expected to complete administrative procedures at the designated place, day and time, and then follow directions of the staff. If a participant does not arrive in time, this will be regarded as a default.
– Complimentary shuttle buses between JR Shin-Yamaguchi Station, Yamaguchi-Ube airport and the venue on the previous days of the first qualifiers and after the days of final selections will be available.

Regarding fee payment

– Those who do not pay the fee at the reception desk on the day are not admitted to attend the contest.
– We cannot refund the fee once it is paid.
– The fee does not cover the expenses of participants during this competition apart from the accommodation fee (3 nights) of Akiyoshidai International Art Village. The expense for the piano accompanist is also not covered.
– Participants can use the restaurant during their stay on the premises (on their own charge).

Privacy Policy

– Please be aware that the participant’s name, age, highest level of education, and ID photo may be used for this competition’s public relations activities.
– Participant’s private information is only used for management of this competition.
– Our institute has the right to take photos and record videos of this competition for broadcasting.

Other

– In the event that you must withdraw from this competition after you apply, please inform us as soon as possible.
– The participants of the double bass category will have a chance to take a follow-up (paid) lesson by Professor BUNYA Michinori after the competition is finished on April 29th and 30th. If you hope to take the lesson, please contact Akiyoshidai International Art Village .

– Repeats must be skipped.
– The self-chosen piece for the second qualifier must be different from the compulsory ones.
– The piece at the final selection must be played from memory.
