– Intensive course –seminar

In the special environment with rich nature and time at the foot of Akiyoshidai where you can face music firmly, 3 days of intensive work on the Horn with teachers who are active on the front lines.

Lecturers

Nobuaki Fukukawa

Principal Horn, NHK Symphony Orchestra Tokyo. He won the 1st place of The 77th Music Competition of Japan Horn division. As a soloist, he performed with numerous orchestra such as Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, Kyoto Symphony Orchestra, Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Osaka Symphony Orchestra, Yokohama Sinfonietta and Hyogo Performing Arts Center Orchestra. His recitals are held at Wigmore Hall (London) and many places such as Los Angeles, Brasil and Asian countries. He also performed as a soloist and a chamber music player at “la Biennale di Venezia”, “La Folle Journée au Japon”, “Spring Festival in Tokyo” and other music festivals. A part-time associate professor at Tokyo College of Music. Advisory Council of the International Horn Society.

Tsutomu Isohata

Graduated from Tokyo College of Music. Finished the degree program of the master of music at Tokyo College of Music. Graduated from The Conservatorium van Amsterdam with the Soloist Diploma. Studied the Horn under Hiroshi Matsuzaki, Jacob Slagter and Julia Studebaker, studied the Natural Horn under Teunis van der Zwart.
He joined PMF in 1991, the Asia Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Myung-Whun Chung from 2006, and EU tour by Asia Pacific United Orchestra in 2012. After performing in Tokyo City Philharmonic Orchestra and Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, he is a hornist in Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra. A member of Horn Ensemble “Tsunobue-Syudan” and The Horn Quartet. A part-time lecturer at Tokyo University of the Arts and Senzoku Gakuen College of Music.

Junji Ogura

Born in Kurayoshi, Tottori. Graduated from Osaka College of Music in 1996. Graduated from Hochschule für Musik Köln Abteilung Aachen in 2000. He joined Aachener Kammer Orchester and Junge Deutsche Philharmonie when he was in the university. After performing in Osaka Symphoniker and Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra, he is a horninst in City of Kyoto Symphony Orchestra. A part-time teacher at Soai University, Osaka College of Music, Music department of Nishinomiya High School. He studied the Horn under Tomotsugu Miyake, D.Bryant, R.Almeida, and H.Ziegler. A member of Sinfonia Hornisten, La Biche Ensemble de Kyoto, Wind ensemble BACCHUS, Japan Brass Collection and RivST Brass Quintet.

Kaname Hamaji

Born in Sendai, Miyagi. Graduated from Tokyo University of Arts as the top student and complete his Master degree. He won the 1st prize and both Iwatani award and Seki award at the 86th Japan Music Competition. He was the first Japanese horn player who won the 1st place of the 10th JEJU International Brass Competition. He played as a guest player with Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, The Geidai Philharmonia Orchestra, Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra, Gunma Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Central Aichi Symphony Orchestra and Jeju Symphony Orchestra、Hong Kong youth wind Orchestra. His CD “die Hoffnung” was released from Winds Score on May 1, 2019. After performing in Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra, now he is the principal hornist at Gunma Symphony Orchestra. A member of Naniwa “Orchestral” winds.

Tsutomu Maruyama

The Hornist. He started the Horn when he was 13, studied the Horn under Hiroshige Wakata and Yasuyo Ito. Graduated from Musashino Academia Musicae. While a student, he joined Japan Philharmonic Orchestra. He won the 1st prize at the 8th Japan the All Japan Wind and Percussion Competition in 1991. He went to Geneva in 1993 and studied under B.Schneider. He perfomed as a principal horn at Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra from 1990 to 2000. He joined many festivals as a guest artist around the world, and many CDs were released as solo, chamber music and orchestra. He is active as a soloist and chamber music player, also as a guest principal Horn at the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, a member of Kioi Hall Chamber Orchestra Tokyo, Horn Ensemble “Tsunobue-Syudan”, Custom Wood Quintet. He teaches at Musashino Academia Musicae. The executive director of Japan Horn Society.
